About the Team
Joseph Abebe is the Founder and Managing Partner of Query Capital. With over a decade of experience building and scaling finance teams across the technology sector, Joseph brings a rare operational perspective to early stage B2B founders seeking to create high growth, sustainable businesses.
Joseph joined Slack as its first finance hire in 2015. As Head of Finance, he built out the processes and structure that enabled Slack’s unprecedented rise as the fastest software company to reach $100M in ARR. During his 4.5 years at Slack, the company scaled from 60 to 1,600 employees and from $2m to $500M in ARR.
Prior, Joseph held roles in finance and business operations at Glassdoor and YuMe (IPO), and in investment banking at Thomas Weisel Partners, specializing in technology IPO and M&A transactions. He earned his B.S. in Finance from USC’s Marshall School of Business. In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis (his new pandemic hobby) and exploring all the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
